Olivet Boys & Girls Club, Blankets of Hope, and Fecera’s have announced a partnership to provide beds to youth in need through a cooperative effort.

The goal of the partnership is to provide beds to those youth in need throughout Reading and Berks County.
Fecera’s will store and deliver all bedding sets to youth and families in need free of charge.

“This partnership with Fecera’s and Blankets of Hope is part of Olivet Boys and Girls Club holistic approach to serving the children of Reading and Berks County,” said Chris Winters, President, and CEO of Olivet Boys & Girls Club.

“A child should be able to feel the warmth and comfort of a bed. The feel and the security of a soft blanket. This relationship will allow Olivet to address the immediate needs of the youth of our community and we are grateful for this partnership.”
Blankets of Hope and Olivet Boys & Girls Club will aim to identify those youth and families in need along with other community partners to provide youth with a twin mattress, box spring, sheet sets, pillowcases, and two warm blankets.

“When you can have local businesses and non-profits such as ours working together for a common goal in helping children have a better quality of life by supplying a brand new bed, it makes our collaboration even more powerful and meaningful, knowing that we can each take our strengths to make for a better community,” said Marc Goldstein, Founder of Blankets of Hope.

All youth and families in need are encouraged to reach out to Olivet Boys & Girls Club at 610-373-1314, or via email at alec.reinert@olivetbgc.org for more information or to be registered to receive bedding sets.

Olivet, Fecera’s, and Blankets of Hope will work together with the families in need to set up delivery dates of the items free of charge to those who need it most. All decisions of those who receive a bedding set will be determined by the partnering agencies.

“Having worked with Marc and Blankets of Hope since August of 2019 we had no idea of the impact we could make and after seeing the need for beds we look forward to collaborating with the Olivet Boys and Girls Club on making the impact on the community even greater” said Chris Fecera of Fecera’s Furniture.

“Adding the Olivet will only make the program stronger. We look forward to the new partnership and working with both outstanding organizations.”
