Wells Fargo volunteers will construct a new state-of-the-art playground, landscape the pool area, and paint the locker rooms, pool office and the pool entry area.

“Wells Fargo has a simple goal in mind with this and other similar projects—to improve the quality of life for residents of Berks County and the City of Reading,” says Wells Fargo Central Pennsylvania Community Bank Area President Lauren Tobiassen. “We want to give Reading children a terrific place to play and swim. Olivet Boys and Girls Club is a magical place for children and through the efforts of our Wells Fargo volunteers, the magic will be even more fun to experience. “

The day will conclude with a free community festival for those living in the vicinity from 12 – 3p.m., in front of the Clubhouse. There will be music, food and more. Kids will have the opportunity to cool off in the pool as it officially opens for the summer.

Olivet Boys & Girls Club is offering a Summer Camp program from June 15 – August 7, 2015 for youth ages 6 – 14, with fees ranging from $25-$50 per week based on family income level. The Summer Camp program is hosted at each of the Club’s seven locations throughout Reading. Central to programming is fighting the ‘summer brain drain,’ or the loss of skills that students experience in between school years, through learning and reading enrichment projects. Campers will also enjoy weekly trips to the Clinton Street pool and the Blue Mountain Camp. At our recently renovated Blue Mountain Camp (Hamburg, Pa) kids will learn swimming, fishing, canoeing, archery and the simple pleasure of hiking in the woods. The Clinton Street Pool, which is being enhanced through the generosity of Wells Fargo, allows Club kids and families an opportunity to learn how to swim, play water games and cool off during hot summer days.
