The Olivet Boys & Girls Club would like to thank Susquehanna Bank and Quadrant Engineering for supporting “Bookworms” Reading Initiative.
Bookworms is an innovative academic success strategy developed by Olivet Boys & Girls Club to increase reading proficiency during the summer months. The Olivet Boys & Girls Club plans to expand this program and offer Bookworms during the school year and to provide tutors to help with Ready. Set. Read! The program’s focus is to promote the love of reading, increase reading proficiency, and to combat the summer learning loss.
Bookworms will help level the “playing field” for many inner-city youth who may lack the support at home that other children in the county receive on a daily basis.
