Grand Re-Opening of The Ricketts Center Draws 100

A crowd of approximately 100 youth and adults enjoyed the Grand Re-Opening of the Ricketts Center in Pottstown on March 24.

In addition to enjoying food and beverages donated by Restaurant 99, guests toured the facility and met the staff of Olivet Boys & Girls Club. Children of all ages were entertained by Reading Phillies mascot, Screwball, Rainbow the Clown, facepainting volunteers from The Hill School, and a performance by Olivet Boys & Girls Club’s teen dance group, Won ta nara.

During a presentation in the gym, Mike Fromm, Olivet Boys & Girls Club Chairman of the Board and President & CEO of Fromm Electric, accepted two checks on behalf of the Pottstown clubs—one for $50,000 from Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and one for $5,000 from Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Jeff Palmer, President & CEO of Olivet Boys & Girls Club, expressed his pride in the Club’s programs and staff. “I’m very pleased that we have been able to expand Olivet Boys & Girls Club’s mission to Pottstown,” said Palmer. He recognized the support received from community leaders and organizations who partnered with Olivet Boys & Girls Club, including the Pottstown School District, The Hill School, Family Services, Head Start, United Way, Pottstown Health & Wellness Foundation, the Borough, 21st Century, and others.
