Carpenter Technology Hosts Fishing Rodeo

On Friday, June 19, 2009, Carpenter Technology Corporation hosted a Fishing Rodeo for 150 youth from Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading and Berks County and City Recreation at Olivet Blue Mountain Camp in Hamburg, PA.

An annual tradition, Carpenter employees spent the day with community youth teaching them how to fish at the camp. Volunteers also spent time interacting with youth with a variety of camp activities and provide lunch. Special thanks to Boscov’s for providing the arts and crafts pavilion for the day.

Olivet Blue Mountain Camp offers inner city youth swimming, fishing, boating, hiking activities and more in a beautiful setting at the base of the Appalachian Mountains in Hamburg. The kids are able to enjoy time outside of the city, away from the dangers of the streets while at the camp and inside our club locations throughout Reading.
