• Started in 1898 by William McCormick at the Olivet Presbyterian Church, Reading
• 453 Volunteers served Olivet Boys & Girls Club in 2009

• In 2010, Olivet Boys & Girls Club will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of girls joining the Boys & Girls Club.

•In 2010, the Clinton Street Unit will be celebrating 100 years of service!!!

  • 85% of elementary school participants increased their academic performance or maintained their good grades.
  • 84% of middle school participants increased their academic performance or maintained their good grades.
  • 62% of high school participants increased their academic performance or maintained their good grades.
  • 91% of elementary school participants increased or maintained their reading level.
  • 77% of participants in the SMART Moves program demonstrated an increase in refusal skills knowledge pertaining to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
  • 90% of the 680 Club members surveyed reported coming to the Club has helped them to stay away from alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
  • 83% of the parents attended their children’s performances and exhibits during the program year.
  • 71% of participants increased their knowledge of the benefits of good nutrition and exercise.
  • 66% of participants improved their Body Mass Index by the end of the Triple Play program.
