MAP Mentors
The Mentoring and the Arts Program is seeking mentors for at-risk youth ages 10-18. Arts experience is encouraged, but not necessary. Individual is responsible for aiding during group hours, scheduling weekly meetings with mentees, participate in special events, and provide monthly reports consisting of detailed case notes. Individual must be responsible and willing to commit to program. Must be available to work on a Wednesday or Thursday night. MAP Internship
The Mentoring and the Arts Program (MAP) is now accepting applications for interns for the fall 2010 semester. Candidates should be energetic, outgoing, and have a strong desire to work with youth. Previous experience working with at-risk youth is preferred, but not required. Interns would assist with mentoring youth in a group and one-on-one setting, documenting activities, programming, and paperwork. Criminal Justice and Social Work majors encouraged to apply. MAP is a court ordered alternative to placement where juvenile offenders receive community service while being exposed to various artistic mediums. Youth are also paired with a mentor who meets with them once a week and is a guiding influence in their life. MAP is one of the specialized initiatives of Olivet Boys & Girls Club.
d.r.e.a.m. program Internship
The d.r.e.a.m. program is now accepting applications for interns the fall 2010 semester. Candidates should be energetic, outgoing, and have a strong desire to work with youth. Interns would assist with daily program operation, provide homework help to students, and document activities when appropriate. Computer Science Internship
Olivet Boys & Girls Club is now accepting applications for Computer Science Interns for the Spring 2010 Semester. Technology Interns will assist with running CAT5 cable, imaging, troubleshooting, upgrading, and repairing lab computers. Candidates should be able to work independently, possess good PC troubleshooting and repair skills (Comptia A+ and Network + certification a plus), and be proficient with MS Office, graphic programs, and digital cameras. Candidates should also be familiar with PC imaging, LAN, WLAN, and WAN concepts, or willing to learn.
