Coca-Cola Enterprises, Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading and Berks County Partner to Create a Reflection Garden in the City of Reading

WHO: Reading Coca-Cola Bottling Company employees and Olivet Boys & Girls Club staff and youth

WHAT: The group will clean up an empty lot located next to the Olivet Boys & Girls Club PAL Center for the Arts, 328 Walnut Street, to create an outdoor garden that includes areas for gardening, a seating area for reflection, picnic tables for projects and set up recycling bins. 

WHEN: Saturday, September 26, 2009 starting at 8 am.  Event is scheduled to end at 12 pm. 

WHERE: The garden is located next to the Olivet Boys & Girls Club PAL Center for the Arts at 328 Walnut Street, Reading, PA 19601//behind the Bookbindery

WHY:The event is designed to provide an area that enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness. Space will be used for a variety of small group activities for youth between the ages of six and eighteen year round.

   This event is part of a CCE’s global, company-wide initiative called “CRS in Action Week,” taking place September 26 – Oct 2, when many of CCE’s 73,000 employees are participating in local community events to demonstrate the company’s commitment to local neighborhoods and Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS).
